Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how LMK Media, doing business as LenderMatch.io ("LenderMatch," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use lendermatch.io (the "Site"). LenderMatch is an online platform that connects borrowers with participating lenders. We are not a lender and do not make loans or credit decisions.
Information we collect
Information you provide
When you submit a request through the Site, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, email address, phone number, property address and details, the type of loan you're interested in, approximate property value and loan balance, your general credit range as you describe it, your date of birth, and related details about your request. We do not require your Social Security number to match you with lenders, and we never pull your credit.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and similar usage data. We may use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising measurement.
How we use your information
- To match your request with participating lenders and connect you with them
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site
- To communicate with you about your request and, with your separate consent, by text message
- To keep records of your consents and requests
- To measure and improve our advertising
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use
How we share your information
When you submit a request and agree to be contacted, we share the information in your request with one or more participating lenders matched to your scenario so they can contact you and present options. Those lenders compensate us for the connection. The companies that may receive your information are disclosed on our partner network page.
We also share information with service providers that help us run the Site (such as hosting, email delivery, and consent verification), when required by law, and in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
Because participating lenders pay us for the connection, sharing your request information may be treated as a "sale" or as "targeted advertising" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time, in any state, using the methods in the section below. We do not sell information to data brokers, and we do not sell the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
Mobile information and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text-message services that enable us to send messages.
If you opt in to receive text messages from LenderMatch, that opt-in applies only to messages from LenderMatch and is governed by our SMS Terms. You can stop at any time by replying STOP.
Two separate permissions
Our request forms ask for two distinct consents, and they are kept apart on purpose:
- Contact from your matches. You authorize the participating lenders matched to your request to contact you about it, including by phone, email, or text. The companies this consent covers are listed on our partner network page.
- Messages from LenderMatch. Separately and optionally, you may agree to receive text messages from LenderMatch itself. As stated above, this opt-in data is never sold or shared for marketing purposes.
Your privacy rights
We extend the rights below to every U.S. resident, regardless of where you live. Some states guarantee these rights by law; we do not limit them to those states. Depending on your state, some rights may not apply to you as a matter of law, but we will still honor a request whenever we reasonably can.
The rights
- Know / access. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to. You may request a copy of the specific pieces of information we hold.
- Delete. Ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions, most commonly the consent and transaction records we are required to retain to demonstrate compliance with telemarketing law.
- Correct. Ask us to fix personal information that is inaccurate.
- Portability. Receive a copy of the information you provided in a portable, readily usable format.
- Opt out of sale. Direct us to stop disclosing your personal information to participating lenders in exchange for compensation.
- Opt out of targeted advertising. Direct us to stop using your information for advertising targeted to you based on activity across sites.
- Opt out of profiling. Direct us not to subject you to automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not currently make automated decisions of this kind about you.
- Limit sensitive information. Direct us to limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service. We do not use sensitive personal information for advertising or for inferring characteristics about you.
- Non-discrimination. We will never deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
- Appeal. If we decline your request, you may appeal that decision. See "If we say no" below.
How to exercise your rights
You can use any of these methods. All of them reach the same place and are handled by the owner of the business.
- Email: contact@lendermatch.io with the subject "Privacy request." Tell us which right you are exercising and include the email address or phone number you used on the Site so we can find your record.
- Web: our opt-out page for do-not-contact and opt-out-of-sale requests, or our contact page for any other request.
- Mail: LMK Media, 1380 Lead Hill Blvd, Ste 245, Roseville, CA 95661.
- Browser signal: we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising for that browser, automatically and with no further action from you.
- Stop contact from a lender: you can also tell any lender directly to stop contacting you, and you can reply STOP to any text message.
How we verify you, and timing
We verify requests by matching the email address or phone number in your request against the information you submitted on the Site. For a request for specific pieces of information, we may ask for one additional data point to confirm it is really you. We will not create an account or ask you for information we do not already hold just to process a request.
We confirm receipt promptly and respond within 45 days. If we need more time because your request is complex, we will tell you within that first 45 days and may take up to 45 additional days (90 days total). Opt-out requests, including GPC signals, are honored within 15 business days and usually much faster. There is no charge for any of this unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we will tell you why before doing anything.
If we say no
If we decline your request, we will tell you why in writing. You may appeal by replying to that decision or by emailing contact@lendermatch.io with the subject "Privacy appeal." We will review the appeal and give you a written decision, with our reasoning, within 45 days. If we deny the appeal, we will provide you with a method to contact your state attorney general to submit a complaint.
Authorized agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will ask for written permission signed by you, and we may still contact you directly to confirm the agent is authorized.
State-specific notes
- California. Residents have the rights above under the CCPA as amended, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. See Your California Privacy Rights for the categories of information we collect and disclose, and our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information notice.
- Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Residents have the rights above under their state's consumer data privacy act, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and profiling. All of these states except Iowa and Utah also give you the right to appeal a denial, described above; we extend that appeal right to everyone.
- Minnesota. In addition, you may ask us for a list of the specific third parties to which we have disclosed your personal information, and you may question the result of profiling.
- Oregon. In addition, you may ask us for a list of the specific third parties to which we have disclosed your personal information.
- Nevada. Residents may direct us not to sell certain covered information. Email us with the subject "Nevada opt out" and we will process it within 60 days.
- Washington and Nevada health data. We do not collect, use, or share consumer health data as defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act or Nevada SB 370. Our forms do not ask about health conditions.
- Financial information. Some information related to a loan inquiry may also be governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and its state equivalents. Where those rules apply to specific records, they may affect what we can delete or disclose. We will explain any such limitation in our response to you rather than simply refusing.
Security and retention
Information is encrypted in transit, access to it is limited to people who need it, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above. Consent records and the artifacts that prove them are retained for five years, because telemarketing law requires us to be able to demonstrate that consent was given.
Children
The Site is intended for individuals 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here with a new "Last updated" date and flag material changes on this page.
